Canberra, Australia | 21-23 November 2024
The conference is an opportunity for practitioners, scholars, Indigenous leaders and other experts and knowledge holders to discuss current and emerging restorative practice across a range of domains. These include: justice, education, healthcare, workplace relations, First Nations communities, faith communities, environment, families, cities and sexual violence.
The Canberra conference will spotlight innovative practice across these areas, with a focus on:
- the lived experience of practitioners and participants in restorative processes
- collaboration between restorative programs
- engagement with related fields of practice
- It will also be a chance to share insights about common core skills for:
- facilitating processes
- implementing programs (including managing culture change)
- integrating related practices and initiatives, and
- generating new knowledge.
Preliminary daily programme:
DAY 1 We will review practice in familiar areas and agencies, with an inspirational keynote speaker and expert presentations in smaller sessions.
DAY 2 Our focus will shift to common themes, and lived experience across many different areas and agencies. We will learn from our second international keynote. Practitioners can present and discuss case studies of successes and challenges, using a common template that enables comparative learning and revelatory dialogue.
DAY 3 An opportunity to practice collaborative engagement. Using Open Space Technology, participants can host conversations to share knowledge, build connections, explore complex questions, and plan policy and program reform.
